1070
Update: Blatant racism passes. E at MOCS1986 has gone into more articulate detail about SB 1070 than blogging at work will allow me, but some shit’s unfolding in Phoenix today, in about 2 minutes, to be exact. Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon says the the bill will be defeated.  I wonder, though, since every time I refresh AZ Central’s homepage, the top news of the day gets overrun with ads...

Home is where my habits have a habitat.
Fiona’s right. As a creature of habit, a sometimes control freak willing to concede big stuff for little moments of absolute domination, I relish being able to expect certain things.  I like this.  Target will always have store brand tissues that feel just fine, just like Kleenex.  For better or for worse, my iced americano (and L’s hot latte, ordered even if it’s 110 degrees...

My Favorite Trainwreck →
Say what you will, but there is something terribly romantic (derivative, fine, but I’m owning my banality) about imagining their oscillations: fits of mad poem-scribbling rebounding into tenderness then fury then despair and ‘round again.

International Pillow Fight Day →
“One of the goals is to encourage people to actively participate with their urban environments rather than being passive consumers of culture.” So that’s why there’s nothing going on here in Phoenix. Gotcha. nolagrrlnyc: Looking for something a little different to do this weekend? You might want to check if your city is hosting a pillow fight this weekend. This is...

Happy April First!
Check it. Whew.  Glad that’s solved. elsi: Is it Fool’s?  Fools’? * Perhaps today should be called “Happy Ponder Apostrophe Use Day.” - *according to the Associated Press Stylebook, the correct punctuation of this day is plural possessive, that is, “April Fools’ Day.”
